Tremendous thanks go out to Channel [V] our wonderful partner in this first annual iCUBED.us one-minute "silent" film contest for putting our 'sample one-minute video' on television sets across Asia and the Middle East!

How do we know this?

We received reports from students in Beijing, from friends in Hong Kong, Singapore and Shanghai, and random enquiries and registrations from students as far away as Abu Dhabi and Bahrain... which is sooooo totally cool!

WHO ROCKS?

We do!
oh, and Channel [V]
and Apple
and NYFA

and... all the hundred-over students who registered for this contest! You're ALL WINNERS for taking the initiative to DO SOMETHING, after all, it's not just about getting the prize, it's about standing up and being heard ~ lots of time for awards and accolades when you're ready for it ~

GET READY FOR IT! : )

And to all the NGO's we met at the CLINTON GLOBAL INITIATIVE this past week, we've decided to hold the Registration Deadline open till December 15th, so these Non-Profit (Non-Government) Organizations can check whether their youth volunteers and supporters are interested to help them create one-minute promotional videos ... I mean, has anyone seen the CHRISTINA NOBLE FOUNDATION's ads on STAR TV? Both ones I saw were about 'water scarcity' and really quite shocking to a person living in the developed world. One is of a skinny little child drinking from a mop bucket, the other is of a child happily washing himself, and the camera moves around and you see that he is actually using water from a toilet bowl to wash himself! These are silent films, there's only the sound of the water sloshing around - and a voice-over at the end...

A bit over the top. But VERY VERY EFFECTIVE at shocking a person - like me - sitting happily watching TV at home on a comfy sofa, bathroom doors closed so as not to cross contaminate toilet air with other air in the living space... Yeah, well, maybe I am a bit over-the-top too! : )
