As a sign of the World Toilet Organization's growing global influence, Jack Sim (founder of the World Toilet Organization), this past month donated USD1.2 million to former president Bill Clinton’s NGO, the Clinton Foundation.
This donation stemmed from the conclusion of the Clinton Global Initiative which was recently held in Hong Kong. Here delegates from all around the world, from the fields of charity, government and entertainment came to discuss and find solutions to some of the world's most pressing social issues.
There was clearly a mood of generous giving, organizations and individuals ended up pledging more than USD$ 90 million to the Clinton Foundation and its various causes.
The WTO, founded by Jack Sim, is a global non-profit for improving toilet and sanitation conditions worldwide. The WTO said the pledged money of $1.2 million was for projects in Cambodia and India aimed at "improving the current market structure of the sanitation sector."
Definitely not money flushed away.
