As all my previous blogs have focused on music, this month, I’m here to introduce a recently launched website concerning a special pet.
Wahfugu.com is HK's first-ever canine service site, offering man's best friend, a luxury lifestyle. Providing information on everything doggie related, the site is a knowledge retreat for the canine loving community. With detail on aspects of canine life ranging from medical listings of Hong Kong to new toy products, to specific facts about various breeds, the site provides the caring owner with all the information they would ever need.
Even more excitingly, owners can also see how their beloved pets may fare as a model by submitting a photo of their dog to the ‘Doggie Talent’ section of the site.
The Good Life continues from there. Perhaps what makes the site most distinctive is the meal delivery service. A wide range of specially designed nutritious meals are available for the canine’s enjoyment, just one click away, and it’ll be delivered right to your doorstep.
Behind the genius of the site was eight years worth of work for creator Jen Chan. She hopes to use the site to connect the dog loving community of Hong Kong, provide support for owners and increase aid to causes that promote better living conditions for dogs.

organic cookies for dogs
This reminds me of a friend of mine from my school days who used to bake organic cookies for her dog. Before meeting this dog, I didn't know that dogs ate fruits and veg! My friend used to say that she liked dogs, cats, and animals in general, more than she liked humans because humans could be pretty nasty on-purpose.
Needless to say, her comments made me think.
One objection I had was that many people in the world didn't have as good a life as her pets, but then it occurred to me that none of that was as a result of her pets having a good home and treatment. So why shouldn't we show compassion and care to pets, give to them as we would a fellow person?

I guess with the growing popularity of pets in HK and especially dogs, this is a useful resource to have.

Local woman in HK housing 180+ rescued dogs !
There's a woman who's - out of the kindness of her heart - housed and saved over 180 dogs in a series of shacks, feeding them daily and because she needs help with this, she had to hire 'maids' but was arrested because she hired the cheaper non-local maids and for some reason, this is NOT legal.
The judge didn't make her 'do time' but instead is making her do many many hours of 'community service'.
BUT, isn't what she's doing ALREADY 'community service'?? I mean, I've heard such unbelieveable stories about people who go out and buy a dog maybe because they saw a movie with a cute dog in it, and then after having the dog living in their homes, they decide that they don't want to keep it anymore, and drive the dog to a remote part of Hong Kong, and then CHAIN THE DOG TO A POST, so that it cannot find its way back 'home'!!!!!!!!!!!
How unbelieveably cruel! WHAT KIND OF PERSON WOULD DO SOMETHING SO CRUEL!
Is this a fault of education, in the sense that we do not put enough attention to 'educating' people on 'behaving with decency and humanity'! Perhaps we also need to BE and SHOW more compassion, as well as teach it to our younger generations.
CHILDREN and ANIMALS are NOT inferior creatures to be USED by those with more 'power', it may help to consider that with POWER comes RESPONSIBILITY! and, so let's CARE for those that are around us, those that depend on us, let's try NOT TO LET THEM DOWN.
