In Chinese numerology the numbers with "four" are considered unlucky because four sounds like the word for "death". But in the West, the unlucky number is "thirteen" (I believe it's somehow related to witchcraft) but here's a strange little collection of little known facts revolving around "thirteen":

What's FRIDAY THE THIRTEENTH aka "BLACK FRIDAY" got to do with giving up your privacy for a chance to win a cushy prize? If anything, wouldn't a "BLACK FRIDAY" CONTEST feel a bit unlucky?

And anyway, do we always need A REASON to do something, even like to join a contest? I'd think that the chance to win is reason enough to join, for example...

CHECK OUT this list of contests ostensibly in honor of today's status as a black Friday, and judge for yourself whether you believe they're for real: http://www.blackfriday.info/news/#286

COMMENT BELOW: Come back and let us know what's YOUR verdict, or send us an email EDITOR[at]iCUBED.us. If you want to know how thirteen is related to witchcraft, email us. We'll do a feature about this ONLY IF there is curiosity from enough of our readers.
