Dear Readers,

Our current theme is "Solving Global Warming".
Don't you agree that to "solve" something is very different from merely "stopping" it. First, it means accepting and acknowledging that a problem does – in fact - exist, and, second, “solving” implies that which is proactive, positive, embracing of life and infinite possibilities. We hope our work highlights planet friendly news, and give inspiration to young people vis à vis your future choices.

Join us in discussion or send your thoughts, comments and feedback about Climate Heroes, examples of what you or others have done to solve and reverse the causes of climate change. There’s the gamete of issues from big ones like reducing birth rates / population control; to personal ones like adopting practices like composting, growing your own vegetables, Meatless Mondays, becoming vegetarian, Reducing-Reusing-Recycling; and living those “old fashioned” virtues such as the philosophy behind the Zero Waste Movement.

The effects of global warming, with the threat of rising sea levels, floods, droughts, heatwaves, extreme climate conditions, even directional changes in under sea current patterns do not contain themselves within our human-made national boundaries. We live on this planet together, and polluting, abusing and destroying the natural ecosystems of planet earth is a problem we CANNOT "export" to some place else. Here's an aspect of GLOBALIZATION we don't talk enough about! We're on this planet together, and truth be told, in the past century - since industrialization - we've done an increasingly bad job of managing our "home", all because of our ingenious ability to produce masses of throw-away junk, and our superior ability to "manufacture a need", yet ignore real needs that do exist.

Switching to a business model that leases and rents rather than sells equipment which needs to be replace every few years will result in much less waste in our landfills and yet leaves our industries to thrive. Big business leaders have to agree to lead us into a more SECURE FUTURE, as only they have the power to alter the tide in a significant and lasting way, in one bold stroke. It's a way to give back to their communities, to reward customers, AND--with environment awareness at such feverish levels -- this is the sort of daring leadership upon which reputations are established, and is rightfully rewarded with lasting customer loyalty.

Let's embrace the problem of Global Warming as an opportunity to reinvent the way we live and work. The green movement has matured, it's no longer about hippy anarchists marching for the right to smoke pot, rather, it's about care and proper stewardship of the planet by those of us who have the ability, power and drive to steer humanity and this planet onto a safer, more sustainable course. Let's all contribute what we can to the solve the problems ~ the reward is a thriving abundant planet, and our collective humanity restored.
