Broaden your Horizons! Travel can broaden your horizons and help you gain a better understanding of different cultures. There is only so much you can learn about different peoples and societies from TV and books; travel can help you experience so much more!

Make new Friends! When you travel, you will meet like minded fellow travelers keen to explore what the world has to offer. You will also meet many local residents and as the saying goes “A stranger is a friend you have not met yet!”

Learn new Skills! Travel will make you use greater communication and language skills! And who knows, your maths may improve with all the endless currency conversions you have to do in your head!

Learn to be Independent! Due to time constraints, it is not always possible to travel with other people so some globe trot by themselves! Thousands of miles from home and in an alternative environment with little to no help will teach some people to be independent very quickly so that they can adapt to their environment.

Take a break! It's healthy! According to www.tia.org , an annual vacation can cut a person’s risk of heart attack by 50%. Yes, it is good to relax and chill out; it has been proven that blood pressure, heart rate, and levels of epinephrine (stress hormone) decline when people take a break. Sometimes, people literally just need a bit of sun!

Yes, travel has many benefits and who knows? You may even be able to make a career out of it!
