In 2007, we have no one and nothing but ourselves to blame for the threat to human survival here on planet earth.
It won't be the Gods playing tricks on humans, or God Himself plaguing us with locus and rivers of blood, as it once was in our history to believe. In the 21st Century the responsibility for all our troubles today rests squarely on the shoulders of man himself.
Haven’t “we” done all the things that now threaten human survival?

We created the Atomic bomb to end World War I.
.
We created franken-foods, and pesticides: we use man-made growth hormones and anti-biotics to speed up and increase food supplies to feed a dangerously over-populated world.
.
We cut down trees and ancient forests for farming, to build more housing, to build roads. Sometimes we don’t even bother to cut, we just burn away the forests to make a clearing for man.
It doesn’t seem likely that it will be aliens from outer space that will come and destroy mankind, as we once feared. In 1938 Author H.G. Wells’ “War of the Worlds” being read on the radio sent Americans into a panic believing that Martians had invaded planet Earth.
No,......... I’m almost certain it won’t be inter-galactic conflict but rather man’s own folly that will be the death of us all here on earth. And, at this point in human history, space aliens invading might instead unify all humans against a common enemy, and lead us to put our own differences aside.

But that’s not likely to happen… so, as young people growing up in a dangerously precarious world, don’t wait to be saved, not by your elders, nor politicians, not scientists even, because they are as likely to save you as space aliens are!
YOU must find a way to ‘be the change you want to see’ in this world you will inherit. Find your place, then find a way to CONTRIBUTE TO THE SOLUTIONS that will save us all from extinction.
Being well informed and learning to see what is really there in front of us is an important skill to learn. But most of all, learning HOW TO THINK, and then thinking intelligently – maybe even out of the box thinking – and doing things DIFFERENT than they are being done, sort of like the way APPLE launched new solutions and products into the world – iTunes and iPods – that is helping the music and film industries revitalize themselves after years of being targeted by theives and pirates.
YOU can make a difference in the world. Begin by engaging in it!
