This year, iCUBED.us is collaborating with world-renowned "relief" agencies CROSSROADS and UNHCR (Hong Kong)
The i3 'SILENT' FILM FESTIVAL CONTEST Version-2 is still about discovering talent for visual storytelling in youth worldwide. We’re calling all young directors, actors, musicians aged 13 – 21 to submit a one-minute "silent" video (MUSIC – yes; TALKING – no). This year, the surprise is - cue the drum roll please - we're all about SIMPLY DOING SOMETHING FOR THE SAKE OF DOING IT WELL!
So this year, iCUBED.us' Annual Silent Film Contest is all about THE SIMPLE PLEASURE OF DOING, there'll be NO JUDGES, just THE AWESOME REWARD OF DOING SOMETHING JUST FOR THE EXPERIENCE!

Upload your not-a-second-more-than ONE-MINUTE video to YOUtube and email [i3film@iCUBED.us] us the link by 1 February 2010, 12 Noon Hong Kong time.
The TWO FILMS with the HIGHEST RATING (five stars) and the HIGHEST NUMBER OF RATERS at 12noon Hong Kong Time 1st March will each be awarded one place on the experiential "REFUGEE RUN" (Please click HERE to read more about the REFUGEE RUN) donated by CROSSROADS FOUNDATION. Runners up will be AWARDED with UNHCR GIFT BAGS.
[In all matters relating to this contest, such as in the event of potential changes/disputes, or, the need for tie-breakers, the decision of iCUBED.us and our contest collaborators will count as final]
JOINING is EASY as 1,2,3
1. REGISTER: Make a commitment to get to know YOURSELF
Registering means 'making a commitment' to get organized, form an "i3 Film-making Team" which might include: Camera-person, Director (which is a creative, as well as a managerial role - you can test out your ability to motivate, organize and deliver-the-goods!), Editor (with additional help from Music/Sound person, or Special Effects type people), and those prima-dona's called ACTORS. *smile
2. MAKING DECISIONS
This is 'the making-of' part of the video/film-making process.
...but, it's really about MAKING DECISIONS, like: "Which topic? ... Who does what? ... When."
3. CLOSING: the Importance of actually CROSSING the FINISH LINE!
...REMEMBER THIS: "Perfection is the goal, but COMPLETION is MORE IMPORTANT."
Contestants may choose to register either individually or in teams (all team members must be between the ages of 13 and 21, we operate on an 'honor system' although we will do spot checking, and if you are found to be behaving dis-honorably, don't be surprised to be 'Dishonorably Discharged').
